Introduction
On January 21, 2026, the inaugural University Technology Transfer and Campus-City Integration Conference was successfully held in Beijing’s Shahe Higher Education Park. Organized by the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission and the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee, the event formed part of both the 2026 Zhongguancun Forum and the city’s “Spark” initiative to accelerate innovation.Beijing Guochuang Xinyuan Industrial Operation & Management Co., Ltd. served as the sole market-oriented international technology trade organization entrusted to host this event.
Over 300 participants attended, including international delegates from the UAE, university tech transfer officers, investors, and deep-tech entrepreneurs. A key highlight was the launch of the Beijing Future Science City University Technology Transfer Alliance, co-founded by Changping District and 11 local universities—including Beihang University, Beijing Normal University, and China University of Petroleum. The alliance issued a joint pledge to foster talent co-development, share innovation platforms, and co-build a global ecosystem for tech commercialization.
The conference emphasized a full-chain support system—from concept validation and pilot testing to real-world application—under a model of “government guidance, university leadership, enterprise participation, and market-driven operations.”
An international collaboration zone featured keynote speeches by Academician Shen Changxiang of the Chinese Academy of Engineering on “Digital Intelligence Driving New Quality Productivity,” and Abdulrahman Ali Ahmed, Deputy Chairman and CEO of Amna Twin Bays International Investment (UAE), who shared insights on cross-border tech partnerships and capital synergy.
A showcase displayed 29 cutting-edge innovations from universities, followed by four focused tech pitches in quantum information, aerospace, bio-manufacturing, and intelligent robotics. These presentations sparked active engagement from industry and investors, leading to multiple preliminary cooperation agreements.
Conclusion
Looking ahead, Beijing Future Science City will institutionalize campus-city collaboration to advance regional high-quality development and strengthen its role as a global hub for science and innovation.
